The Curriculum Librarian position is a 12-month, full-time untenured professional librarian position with faculty rank that provides expertise and guidance for all aspects of the curriculum for both library instruction and the creation of a Master of Science degree in Library Instruction curriculum. This position will work collaboratively with the School of Education and Academic Affairs in designing a Library Science degree program.
Job Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to accomplish each of the below duties satisfactorily:
- Essential duties:
- Create the program and curriculum for an MS in Library Science degree.
- Provide assessments and rubrics for the program, serving as the point of contact for Weave and ALA reporting.
- Assist the Head of Public Services and the Undergraduate Instruction Librarian with assessing and improving current curriculum and instruction endeavors.
- Collaborate with the Chancellor’s Office to help design and facilitate the Robertson Archive.
- Assist with the UNIV LIB course.
Educational/Experiential Requirements
A Master’s of Library Science Degree from an ALA-accredited program required, along with a additional desired graduate degree. Experience writing and implementing curriculum for a library degree program. Experience working in an academic library setting.
