Job Summary
Cedarville University (Cedarville, Ohio) is seeking a qualified candidate to serve as Biblical and Theological Studies Librarian. This position is a full-time, 12-month non-tenure track position within the University’s Centennial Library reporting to the Director of Library Public Services. The Biblical and Theological Studies Librarian will contribute to the development and delivery of library instruction services, research and information services, and individual research assistance, with special focus on undergraduate and graduate students and faculty of the School of Biblical and Theological Studies.
Job Responsibilities
The Biblical and Theological Studies Librarian will provide expert and innovative research support to students and faculty in biblical studies programs and will work with faculty to deliver an effective information literacy instruction strategy. This librarian will also seek to support all undergraduate students who are enrolled in the bible minor. Working collaboratively as part of the library’s research team, the Biblical and Theological Studies Librarian will help deliver research support services to all students and will assist with the effective implementation of innovative library technology, online tools, and digital services.
Educational/Experiential Requirements
The successful candidate will possess an ALA-accredited Master of Library Science degree and library experience, preferably academic library experience. The candidate will need to be an excellent classroom communicator, conversant with relevant research methodologies, familiar with biblical and theological studies disciplines and information resources, and able to engage in proactive, creative outreach.
