The Technical Services Librarian must be skilled and proficient in the organization of information, use of technology, performing research, and inputting data. The librarian should also have excellent communication skills in dealing with students, staff, faculty, and the general public.
Job Responsibilities
- Assists with cataloging physical & digital resources
- Collaborates with other librarians concerning library processes
- Helps provide projects for Assistant Librarians
- Assists in preservation of library archives as needed
- Assists Director in website development and maintenance as needed
- Runs usage/statistical reports periodically
- Answers reference questions
- Assists with information literacy classes
- Communicates verbally and in writing with professionalism
- Serves the students, faculty, and other library staff in a spirit of cooperation
- Participates in library staff meetings
- Other duties as assigned
Educational/Experiential Requirements
Master’s degree in Library Science, or its equivalent, from an ALA accredited university, preferred.
