Consortium Coordinator – SWITCH Library Consortium – Milwaukee, WI

Job Summary

The SWITCH Consortium, a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization, facilitates library services among seven private college libraries in the Greater Milwaukee area, including shared resources, information technologies, and other cooperative ventures. SWITCH is currently seeking a Consortium Coordinator to manage the consortium’s activities through planning, mentoring, training, education, and technology support. The Consortium Coordinator also fulfills the corporate responsibilities of the consortium through bookkeeping, contract negotiations, financial reporting, and representing the consortium at its annual board meeting. This position also offers some flexibility relative to remote work, but also has on-site work requirements as well. The composition of the consortium members include two Roman Catholic seminaries, one private art institute, two Lutheran (LCMS & WELS) and two Roman Catholic liberal arts colleges / universities. Job Responsibilities

Reporting to the directors of the member libraries, the Coordinator’s primary duties include administering Alma/Primo VE for member libraries in multiple Alma instances, including all configurations and Tier I support; maintaining the organization’s operations on Amazon Web Services; and representing the consortium with all vendors relating to the shared library system, OCLC hosted EZProxy, and courier services. The Coordinator also facilitates vision- and goal-setting for the consortium and develops an annual strategic plan.

Educational/Experiential Requirements

  • A terminal degree in library science, information technology, or information management area (master’s degree preferred)
  • Experience in an academic library environment & familiarity with their technologies
  • Demonstrated successful project management skills
  • Demonstrated management and/or supervisory experience
  • Demonstrated service orientation and customer service experience
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
