ACL Conference Code of Conduct

ACL is committed to providing a positive, worthwhile conference experience for all participants, whether online or in-person. Participants are expected to treat others with respect and consideration, keeping the conference environment free of discrimination or harassment, maintaining professional and ethical conduct at all times.

ACL exists to support Christian librarians and thus asks each member to strive to build up other members through Christ-like sacrifice, seeking the good of all. Participants’ actions, including their speech and posted comments, should be wholesome fitting with Eph 4:29 and Phil 4:8-9. We encourage fun, light-hearted posts and conversations, but we ask conference participants to aim for appropriate and non-offensive interactions both in-person and online. Please keep article sharing to library-related topics.

ACL has a designated Code of Conduct Committee. If at any time, an attendee feels that they have been harassed or that this code of conduct has been breached, it is important that this person report it to a member of the Committee, which consists of two ACL Board Members, the Executive Director and Conference Manager. Please contact Janelle Mazelin, Executive Director, by email mazelinj@acl.org or in person to report any infractions.

If a participant engages in harassing behavior, the conference organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, including, removing content, and warning the offender or expelling them from the conference without refund.

Approved by the ACL Board of Directors March 2022
